Avon Food Relief Inc.
Avon Food Relief Inc is a newly established charity formed in 2026 to help address food
insecurity in the Avon region and parts of the Wheatbelt in Western Australia. The need is
great, with the cost of living crisis biting hard and fuel prices increasing, families the elderly
and those in poor health are finding it difficult to make ends meet.
We are proud to be a Foodbank Charity Partner which gives us access to bulk pantry items
such as pasta, rice, breakfast cereal and tinned food. We also pick up fresh fruit and
vegetables and other ingredients that go into our premade frozen meals. Avon Food Relief
Inc has entered a partnership with Saint Josephs Catholic Parish in Northam to use the
Parish Hall kitchen to cook meals two days a week. We are very grateful for their kind
support.
We know from experience there is a need for premade frozen meals particularly amongst the
elderly and those whose health is not the best. Unfortunately, the number of people in our
community that must decide between eating and paying the bills is increasing at an alarming
rate. This is where AFR can help, our nutritious meals can ease the budget stress for those
on a fixed income such as a pension.
